We offer two types of mounted systems:
The two main considerations as to which style would suit your opening best is if there is enough room on your jamb to fit the inner sill system, and aesthetically which one you prefer.
Architrave mounted: To obtain the correct width measurements, measure from the outside edge of the architrave or frame surrounding your door/window. To obtain the correct height measurements, measure from the top of the architrave of frame to the bottom of the doorway or window frame.
Inner sill mounted: To obtain the correct width measurements, measure from the inside frame of your window or door. To obtain the correct height measurements, measure from the inside of the top of the door/window frame to bottom of the doorway or window sill.
Fly Free Retractable Insect Screens have DIY kits which are easy to follow and any home handy-person can install. All that is needed to install most of the kits are a few simple tools and roughly an hour of your time.
If you are located in the Brisbane Metro area Fly Free offer a quote and measure service which includes installation of your screen.
Our DIY kits can freighted anywhere in Australia with TNT Freight Company. The standard lead time from when collected from our store is 5 working days. If you are have the screens installed within the Brisbane area it is only a matter of booking an appropriate time for an installer to come to your home or business.
Please note there is however a 2 week lead time for powder coating the frames.
This is not a problem at all. We can powdercoat the frames to any colour in the Dulux or Interpon powdercoating range. We have two primary colours which all our screens are available in, White and Sunburst (a colour we devised to match most cedar stain frames). These two colours are available for no extra charge. We have ten specific Dulux colours in our secondary colour range which are an additional charge and all other colours in the Dulux or Interpon range are priced on application. Contact us if you have any questions in regards to powdercoating.
The retractable insect screen frames are made of heavy duty extruded aluminum which is then powdercoated to the colour of your choice. The flexible insect mesh is fiberglass and therefore not fire retardant.
If this happens check to make sure the tracks are free from any dirt and debris as this can affect the smooth running of your screen. You can wipe this clean with a damp cloth. Allow to dry completely before using your screens again.
Alternatively double check all the measurements for you opening as the screens require both sides of the opening to be exactly the same so that your screen is level and square. If they are not the same you will have to make adjustments prior to cutting the screen to size, but this can still affect the smooth running of your screen.
Please refer to the installation instructions in the Technical Information section of our web site.
Fly Free can dispatch any section of the screen to anywhere in Australia using TNT freight couriers together. If you are located in the Brisbane Metro area one of our installers can come out to your home to access the damage and fix your screen. Please note a call out fee will be charged.
There is a simple and immediate solution to this problem. The direction tab underneath the ezy glide handle needs to be realigned into the track and mesh guided back into the cassette, allowing for the screen to load back to its normal operating environment.
